What’s Cooking?  UniKeep™ Disc Wallets for Recipes

My cookbooks now share space with several Disc Wallets filled with recipes I’ve stored on CDs, as well as DVDs with cooking lessons, recipes friends have sent on CDs, and cookbooks that have been released in DVD format.  To keep things straight, I’ve decorated the “wraps” for each Disc Wallet to reflect the contents.  On a shelf, the spines - much like books - tell the story at a glance. 

This is such an easy, fast project you’ll probably want to make extras for gifts.  I plan to put my best recipes onto CDs for my nephews and goddaughter and will decorate their Disc Wallets, too.  If you’re giving a bridal shower, hosting a recipe or cookie swap, consider making decorated Disc Wallets with a CD inside for each guest or participant.

Cookbookin’ Recipe Scrapbooking papers and stickers

Beacon PaperTac Glue 

Instructions:
1. Cut a 12 x 5.25 piece of food theme scrapbook paper for the main portion of the wrap. 
2. Cut two 1.25-1.75 x 5.25 strips of contrasting food theme scrapbook paper.  Overlap and glue in place to extend the ends of the “wrap” to the length needed.  (The length of the “wrap” depends on the thickness of the spine of the Disc Wallet.) NOTE: If you are making a lot of “wraps” it is a good idea to get to this point on all of them at once, assembly line style, before adding embellishments.
3. Add flat and 3-D stickers to front, back and spine of “wrap”.  Refer to photo for ideas and layout.
4. Options: Add names, dates, or more information about the contents of the Disc Wallet to the back or spine.
